Wonder Woman To Be Film Heroine 3/22/05
In the 1970s, the DC Comics character, Wonder Woman, was the subject of a TV series. Now, producer Joel Silver has chosen Joss Whedon to be the writer and director of a film about the
comic book character.
Whedon has experience in both TV and film. He wrote the screenplay for films such as Toy Story and Alien: Resurrection. And he created and was executive producer of the TV series
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off series, Angel.
"[Whedon's] work on Buffy
makes him uniquely qualified to handle the Wonder Woman character," says Jeff Robinov, President of Production at Warner Brothers Pictures, which will distribute the Wonder Woman film in theaters.
