Iron Man Coming To The Big Screen 12/29/04

New Line Cinema and Marvel Studios (NYSE: MVL), have hired Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook, John Q) to direct a new film based on the Marvel comic book character, Iron Man.

The film is about Tony Stark, an executive who runs a business empire by day and secretly becomes the Super Hero, Iron Man, by night. He uses body armor and weaponry to fight crime, terrorism, and corporate espionage.

New Line Cinema and Marvel Studios will soon begin casting for the Iron Man film, which is scheduled for release in 2006.

Both companies have worked together before. They collaborated on the hit film, Blade, which was also adapted from a Marvel comic book series.
